Baer was doing diagnostic work on the old Non Directional Beacon receiver that has lately been sending false distress signals to 911. The NDB helps pilots navigate their approach while landing and is an older model that was made in the 1970s. Baer, who said that he enjoys working on older equipment because of its simpler construction and easy access, is seen here checking voltage on various components to discern which are defective.</span></em>
