A friend of Maria's testified that she and Maria were playing a game on a street corner near her home when McCullough walked up and introduced himself as Johnny.  Moments later, McCullough gave Maria a piggyback ride.

Today, that man, Jack McCullough has been found guilty of killing her and hiding the body.

McCullough is a former resident of Sycamore and recently resided in Seattle.  An inmate also implicated him in the murder.

He is 72 years old.
