Johnson and three other victims were shot at Merrill Park in the 2100 block of E. 96th Place in the Marquette Park neighborhood.
The four victims were all standing in the park at about 10:18 p.m., when police said at least two gunmen emerged from a nearby gangway and opened fire.
Johnson was wounded in the neck, and pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. His death was the first recorded homicide in the small Jeffery Manor neighborhood in nearly a year.
About 15 minutes, earlier, In another incident, a 13-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were each wounded in the 7200 block of S. Artesian.
No arrests have been made in either shooting.
