Kristen Wiig is officially on board for the much anticipated sequel to "Anchorman," dubbed "Anchorman: The Legend Continues."
Co-star Christina Applegate and director Adam McKay revealed the news via Twitter:

While there are no details on the size of Wiig's role, Deadline adds that she'll be playing the wife of simple-minded weatherman Brick Tamland (Steve Carell).
McKay had previously told The Playlist he hopes the fill the sequel with a "murderer's row of the best day players ever. Like having every single one line or three line role, just be someone we just love."
Even if Wiig's role is little more than a cameo, let's hope she spends some of it opposite the "Anchorman" himself, Will Ferrell. Their recent appearance at the Golden Globes reminded everyone just how good they are together.
"Anchorman: The Legend Continues" is scheduled for release Dec. 20, 2013.
