Convicted Lockerbie bomber dies

The only person convicted in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing will be laid to rest. Abdel Baset al-Megrahi died Sunday, nearly three years after his release from a Scottish prison.

The only person convicted in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing will be laid to rest. Abdel Baset al-Megrahi died Sunday, nearly three years after his release from a Scottish prison.

His celebratory homecoming in Libya sparked outrage from the international community and from victims' families. 270 people were killed after pan am flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland. Most on board were Americans.
