Through mobile phones, social media, the Web and email, the committee aims to offer fans several ways to interact and ask questions.
“Early in our planning, we saw a huge opportunity to engage fans and extend our Hoosier hospitality via SMS text messaging, Twitter, Facebook and email,” said Scott Dorsey, chairman of the Host Committee’s marketing and communications division in a press release statement. “The incredible number of interactions over the first few days is a great sign that we are well on our way to making this the ‘most connected’ Super Bowl in history.”
The biggest ways the committee communicates is through:
Website: The committee said their website has had 2 million unique visitors in the past 30 days and averages more than 100,000 per day this week.
Mobile: Through text alerts, the committee is able to send updates on the latest events, concerts and schedules.
Social Media: Approximately 37,500 fans are following the Super Bowl Host Committee on Twitter (@SuperBowl2012) and Facebook (2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee).
Email: More than 23,000 people have subscribed to the committee’s email update distribution list.
Mobile app: The Super Bowl XLVI Guide application can be downloaded on smart phones and tablets. It provides information on the city, events and the game. Fans can also receive maps.
“Indianapolis is home to some of the greatest minds in interactive marketing, which creates an opportunity for us to create a helpful experience for everyone visiting Indianapolis,” said Brad Carlson, Vice President of Marketing for the Host Committee. “We are bringing the power of information and real-time alerts to fans’ smartphones and tablets to ensure they have the information they need to enjoy this historic event.”
Fox59 is always keeping you updated on the latest Super Bowl events as well. Check out our Super Celebration website for information on events, concerts, travel, etc.
