But I promise to get back to blogging again. I will be on vacation from December 6th thru the 15th.. so there won't be any entries during that stretch but I will start up again once I'm back.
Heck, the Tigers have done nothing so far this off season. Last year by now that had pulled the trigger on the Renteria deal.. and were a few days away from landing Cabrera and Dontrelle. I hope Dave Dombrowski has some big plans for the winter meetings because if he thinks remaining status quo with this team will get them to the World Series then he's sadly mistaken.
I really, really hope the Lions go 0-16. Maybe hitting the ultimate rock-bottom will send the proper message to Mr. Ford that it can't possibly get any worse. Yesterday they placed Mike Furrey on IR. According to Furrey, he's fine. The team did the same thing to Jon Kitna 6 weeks ago. Placed him on IR when he was a few weeks away from being completely healthy. The team is clearly trying to cut ties with some players now rather than wait until the end of the season. It's almost like they want to go 0-16... cutting guys who have proven to be decent players and could possibly make a play to help the team win. Now the Lions have Calvin Johnson and a bunch of nobodies at WR.
According to FSN Detroit last night Chris Chelios is practicing with the Red Wings and wants to rehab with none other than the Grand Rapids Griffins! Nothing's official yet, but usually when the FSN broadcasters say stuff like that it comes to fruition. I believe he'd be the 4th "true" Red Wing to rehab here, along with Curtis Joseph, Chris Osgood, Darren McCarty. Plus, it's Chris Chelios - a sure-fire hall of famer. 46 years old he may be, but the guy can still do it. It'll be fun having him around for a few games. Some of the young Griffins we're even born when Chelios won his first Stanley Cup with Montreal.
Well, time for me to go snow blow my driveway. It's good to be back... and I promise to keep the entries coming as much as my free time allows.
