On June 15th, 2010, at approx 11:23 pm, IMPD was dispatched Red Bush Dr. Upon arrival, police spoke with a woman who stated her daughter’s boyfriend, Danny LeFlore hit her 10-year-old grandson with a belt 10 times hitting him in the butt, back, shoulder, and face.

The witness stated she was in her bedroom in the upstairs of the house when she heard yelling and a lot of movement coming from the bedroom next to her. When she got out of her bed and into the hallway, she observed her grandson running out LeFlore's bedroom being chased by LeFlore, who was swinging a belt and hitting the child. The witness stated the child ran behind her and clinched onto her leg. At this point LeFlore continued swinging the belt and striking the child. One of the strikes swung around the witness and struck the child in the face, just to the side of his right eye. During the swinging of the belt, the witness was also struck in the shoulder with the belt causing pain. The witness took the child downstairs and called 9-1-1.

Police stated the child had a ripped shirt, two small lacerations on his right shoulder, a welt on his lower back, neck, and on his face to the side of his right eye. The child was crying and acting very upset.

The child stated he was in his mother's room, where LeFlore also sleeps. The child stated they were playing a game, when an argument ensued. The child stated he called LeFlore a "crackhead". The child stated LeFlore then started hitting him with open hands on the head and back. The child stated LeFlore grabbed a belt and began hitting him approx 10 times. The child stated he ran out of the room while being hit into the hallway where he found the witness. During this time is when the child's shirt was ripped. The child stated he grabbed onto the witness and LeFlore continued to hit him with a belt until the witness removed him from the situation.

LeFlore stated to police that he was lying in bed and asked his girlfriend, the mother of the child for a tissue from the bathroom. LeFlore stated as his girlfriend went to get a tissue, the child blocked the door way to the bathroom. LeFlore stated his girlfriend made the child move and she continued to get the tissue. LeFlore stated his girlfriend gave him the tissue and the child began jumping on the bed saying "that's my tissue." LeFlore stated his girlfriend then told him to "whip his ass" referring to the child.

LeFlore then took and open hand and pushed the child off the bed by the back of his head. LeFlore stated the child came back onto the bed and LeFlore grabbed a shoe and hit the child on the butt with a shoe. LeFlore stated the child then was off the bed so he grabbed a belt and hit him 2-3 times on the butt with the belt. LeFlore stated the child hid behind the witness and he continued to swing at the child with the belt hitting him.

Due to the child's age, LeFlore was arrested for battery.
