Some of us are not old enough to remember when Downtown Harrison flooded in the 1960's, but some remember the stories our parents or grandparents told us. As I watched the waters rise, I remember my mother telling me of when the square at Harrison flooded. I can also remember in the late 1980's, when I was caught in the flood waters in Newton County, AR with my parents. Luckily the water was not running fast enough to knock us off our feet as we fled our stranded vehicle in the middle of the rising water. We must all remember to stay clear of high, fast running flood waters.
