As I write this, the lake is back up 929. The Corps is releasing 14,000 cfs
(cubic feet per second) through the turbines and 20,000 cfs through the 10
flood gates for a total of 34,000 cfs and expect to release at this level at
least through next Tuesday. Beaver lake is releasing 33,000 cfs into Table
Rock Lake, so we are not gaining anything at this time but Beaver is full
and has to release everything coming in. Table Rock Lake level is expected
to crest sometime on Saturday at 933, the highest level in the history of
the lake. When the Corps was releasing 20,000 cfs, that equaled 12.9 billion
gallons in a 24 hour period. If my math is correct, at 34,000 cfs that
equals almost 22 billion gallons of water going into Taneycomo every 24
hours.
I drove over the 65 Highway bridge at Taneycomo and some of the lakefront
homes are flooded.
Just thought I would share this with you.
We are praying for no more rain as any additional runoff will just have to
be released downstream.
David
