Location: Thayer, Mo. - Mammoth Spring Ar.

As Mother Nature turned on the facet to full blast, the contributing tributaries spilled into and rapidly pushed Warm Fork river out of it's banks. The flood waters pushed to the edges and over the BNSF rail road tracks in some areas, on one side and to the edges of Highway 63 on the other. Carrying in it's torrent, a mass of brush, trees and debris. The volume of water consuming the banks and roadways, overflowing into a home along the way, before covering the holding tanks of the State Fish Hatchery at Mammoth State Park. The debris filled torrent bombarded a steel rail road bridge with the force tearing away the earth under the rails on the southbound approach. Warm Fork combined with the 9 million gallons per hour from the Spring, to make Spring River doubled in size. The overflow spilled into houses along the banks and out over Highway 63. Spring River covered the rail crossing and bridge approach at Cold Springs access, gaining momentum toward Dam 3.. The massive volume spilled over the top of the Dam on both branches. Overflowing into the Fish Hatchery and out over the edges to the rail road tracks. The waters path of destruction eating away at the hatchery road and boat ramp. The river cut away at the banks & homes in it's path as it continued threw Hardy and on south.
