At 1215 am Wednesday morning, a violent wind woke families along the Little Niangua Arm of Lake of the Ozarks. The next morning, as families ventured out of their homes, and weekenders that were called during the night from out of town gathered to inspect the damage to their properties. Two docks were completely flipped backwards, with boats and PWC's still on their lifts.
Dean Payne, who owns a home at the top of the hill where the tornado struck, witnessed the spout crossing the lake around 12:15 am. He said that there was a mass wall of rain about 100 feet above the water, and from the sound and what he observed, was sure that the tornado had struck just below his home. Tree damage across the lake and along State Road EE showed the path that the tornado took by countless downed trees and trees without any leaves left on them.
Besides the dock and boat damages, roof tops had shingles peeled off, patio furniture shattered glass tops were strewn across neighbors decks, screens torn out, tin from dock roofs in trees and on the road, and many downed trees across the roads.
Luckily, there were no injuries reported

I live in Greenview and seen a wall of rain. I was outside watching the lightning, I know it wasn't a good idea. Anyways, I didn't see a tornado but thought I had briefly seen a funnel cloud in the mist of all the lightning. The winds also picked up.
