As the rains kept coming Friday, June 13th, the water levels in what are normally fairly dry drainage ditches kept rising. My neighborhood(and the neighborhood behind me) run along a creekbed that is normally dry throughout the year. While it has obviously had some water in it this spring, I have never seen the water come up so fast, nor move so rapidly. The neighborhood lies just west of Golden, along Walnut Lawn. The pictures I took show a yard that becomes a lake and the creekbed becoming a fast-moving stream. Tree branches were floating with the water, as were wheelbarrows and other household items from somewhere upstream. The water reached its highest point around 3pm, and could be heard from the street over 100 yards away.
