I’m a volunteer weather observer for CoCoRaHS which stands for Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (http://www.cocorahs.org). I’m located in Branson, and my station is MO-TY-1. Today’s storm started at my station at approximately 3am. Rainfall was most intense during the 8 o’clock hour. The rain wrapped up at about 3pm. During those 12 hours, I received 5.71 inches of rain measured by this official rain gauge. As you can see, the inner cylinder, which holds exactly 1 inch of measured rain, easily overflowed into the outer cylinder which can hold several more inches of rain.
