SPEED is the nation’s first and foremost cable television network dedicated to motor sports and the passion for everything automotive. Now available in more than 78 million homes in North America it is among the fastest growing sports cable networks in the country.
Rich Christensen is Host and executive producer of PINKS. Rich knows what people like to watch and has a very strong opinion of what the show should be about, creating a television show based upon a ‘street racing’ legend known as racing for the ‘pink ownership slips’ that came out of the 50’s and 60’s.Rich Christensen said “It’s not about the money it’s all about the ride, these guys live, breathe and love their cars.”
“Everyday people can be heroes for 15 minutes” PINKS ALL Out contestant Laura Bello told the Washington post while competing at Maryland International raceway last June.
To get into the top 16,win a brand new NAPA tool chest and 10,000 on the line. 450 cars registered to be on the pinks show being taped at Gateway International Raceway this past weekend in St. Louis. PINKS ALL Out can be seen on SPEED channel every Thursday night at 9:00p.m. Eastern Time.
These local racers went to try their luck this past weekend. Sonny West with his 1973 Bronze Vega(The Agitator) of Phillipsburg, Mo., Gary Pringle and his 1933 Ford Coupe, Jimmy Poindexter and his 1969 Black Camaro both from Willard Mo. Jack Maggard with a 1969 Blue Chevelle from Springfield,Mo., Bobbie Maggard of Republic, Mo. With his little 1964 Orange Chevy II.
In between rounds and during delays there were plenty of exhibition runs. Jimmy DeAngelo brought his 1950 Bullet nose fire truck and did a ¼ mile on the back wheels and turned around and came back down the other lane really fireing up the crowd of more than 20,000. Dan Crownhart brought out the Jet Funny Car that has been in his family for several years at 63 his father still drove the car. Now Dan drives but dad is still there. Motorcycles, Nostalgia dragsters and just too many more to mention. A kid’s play area in the midway with the air slide and air maze was a huge success for the little ones.
I think our guys need a big hand for the distance they went in the show and it was a great showing of what the boys here in the Ozarks can do. Remember there were 450 cars in this event. Jack Maggard made it into the top 16 only to be taken out in the first pass. Jim Poindexter and his Black camaro made it down to four cars before being eliminated. Gary Pringle was asked to bring his car up along with 11 others to make a pass for the PINKS ALL Out Takes show which airs on Wednesday nights on SPEED Channel. Or other advertising purposes they choose congratulations to all the guys that entered no matter how far you went. And as for who won the race you will have to tune in and see. The end of the race was quite interesting a big storm was coming in so to be able to finish the race there were changes made. It will be interesting to see how it ended.
This show will air on September 11, 2008 at 8:00 Central time on SPEED Channel.
