Location: Lampe/Blue Eye - Missouri, near Dogwood Canyon, Point 18 on Table Rock Lake and Just around the corner of the Berry Farm on Persimmon Hill and Trace Hollow Road

Yesterday, Jan 29, 2009, A Barn Collapsed under the weight of the Ice in Lampe/Blue Eye Missouri. Two Stallions, "Strategy" and "Playboy" had to be CUT out of the side of the Leaning Barn. They were trapped inside, because of the beams, wood, wires, and much ice from the collapse of the Barn Roof.

Many neighbors and friends all contributed to saving three horses from this collapsed barn. There was one Yearling filly named "Skittles", who was shaken and taken out first.

There were two Studs used for breeding, that were still trapped under the I-Beams, Wood, Wires, Roof and Ice. After several hours, the one Stud named "Playboy" was finally brought out through the side of the leaning barn.

"Strategy" was still trapped a little further into this same wall. They had to cut through the stall that "Playboy" came out, to get to the other Stud named "Strategy". They were all shaken, but no horses or colts were hurt or lost during this difficut tragedy.

The owners of Lakeview Paint & Quarter Horses are Debbie and Terry Dillard. After getting out the first Stud named "Playboy", Debbie Dillard trailered four to Dewey Smith, who offered to take the horses and even come and pick others up if necessary.

There are two fillies and mares, that were in a different area and all the little ones are just fine. But, they have several other mares that are going to foal soon, so they had to start moving mares, yearlings and Stallions to somewhere till they get their barn collapse evaluated.

I know that Arkansas has been getting all the aid and attention, but the very Southern part of Missouri has also been suffering much damage from the Ice as well.

Many Docks from Table Rock Lake have come down or sunk and I am sure that many other buildings have also been affected.

Missouri has also been out of power - just as Arkansas has been

Please don't leave out our Missouri Community that is also suffering as well!

This was in Missouri not Arkansas, but apparently Missouri residents don't matter! I am so sick of hearing that FEMA and SEMA are going to help Arkansas, but when Debbie Dillard contacted FEMA about this Missouri Barn Collapse - Mo is not included!

I am glad that the APHA (American Paint Horse Association) cares enough to at least try and help the Dillard's from this disaster caused by the same very intense ice storm that hit arkansas and southern Mo. You can tell that Horse people care - Gov?

I don't mean to be rude, but "Polk County" does sound like a place where people would pray for a barn. And hey, smart guy, maybe the "gov" has more important things to do than save horses. You are a "horse lover"? Come on, get a life.

Yea you do mean to be rude normal human, people in Polk county do care and do have hearts. Yea the gov likes to help dead beat people like you, thats why they can't help us honest people trying to make a living rasing horses and cattle.

If the "gov" is going to help people with old, broken down barns, then they should give me money for being "disabled" (lazy), give me stamps to buy groceries, kill any babies that were born at an inconvenient time, use taxes to pay for my college,

I'm sorry, I know I should move on, but I still can't get over people in Polk County "praying for a barn". It's hilarious!

Now I'm sure: Horse Lover has completely lost his mind! Love doesn't build anything! Your statement is really touching (if your crazy) but totally wrong! Who cares about the animals?!
