When Alan was about 4 years old he was watching his grandpa playing the guitar and found the closest thing to his hieght. Which was the vent on the wall, he started out keeping rhythm on the vent. Eventually his grandpa taught him chords G,C,D, then from there he taught him self the rest. At about the age of 9 he tried taking guitar lessons but he says it didn't help much and went back to teaching himself. About the age of six his grandpa taught him to play the dobro.About this time he started learning to play the banjo also. At 8 he played at Sycamore in Chesapeake mo. Then about the age of 14 he started playing at the Horseshoe theater in Monett mo. Alan is now 18 years old and still plays at the Horseshoe theater at least once a month. He is always open to playing at Apple Buttter Makin Days, churches, and anything else that sounds like a great opportunity!
His Dreams and hopes is to become famous, and one day becoming a recording technician.
He is currently writing his own music and someday he hopes to record his first CD.

Alan really connects with his audiences. At age 14 he came to us at the Horseshoe Theatre in Mt. Vernon. Four years later he is still drawing crowds to our new location in Monett. I hope the judges get to see him perform in person. It's electric.
