I had traveled this stretch of road earlier in the day on Saturday, 9/19/09, and all was normal. On my return home the usually quiet and peaceful Lick Creek, at the bridge on J Hwy southeast of Gainesville, MO, was now a mad rushing, roaring river that had exceeded it's banks and created a lake in the field bottoms. Excessive rain the matter of a few short hours caused flash flooding the Mammoth & Howards Ridge areas in Missouri.

I've lived around Gainesville most of my life and have never seen water over the road there. Pretty amazing stuff!

That's with me, too. I have traveled this road every week day for several years and lived around the area my entire life and have never seen or heard of the water being over here. Yes, amazing.
