Our class has been researching wooly worms and identifying how dark they have become. We have had over 35 worms brought in and most were solid black in color. Approximately 10% have been black ended with brown in the middle. According to Ozark lore, we should be having a really nasty winter. Our class also disected persimmon seeds and found mostly spoons or shovels this year. Less than 5% were knives/forks. The students are reporting higher than average spiderwebs and hornets nests which is usually a sign of snowy weather according to their sources. These worms were all located in the Marshfield area.
