BRANSON, Mo. (KY3) - Branson police arrested six people Sunday morning while conducting a search warrant, which led to officers recovering drugs and investigating counterfeit money operations.

Officers responded to the Metropolitan Motel, located at 300 Schaefer Dr, around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, patrolling the area for several hours.

Police seized a wide assortment of drugs and firearms, along with evidence of a counterfeiting operation, according to the Branson Police Department.

Six people, including a member of the motel management, were arrested and sent to the Taney County Jail. Charges are pending as the Branson Police are communicates with the Taney County Prosecuting Attorney’s office and Missouri Probation and Parole.

Branson police says “proactive enforcement efforts” led to this search warrant. The Taney County Sheriff’s Department Special Operations Team served this search warrant.

“This investigation aligns with the City’s efforts to hold motel management accountable for safe lodging. As a result of this investigation, a comprehensive review of the motel’s business license and inspection records is being conducted,” Branson police said Sunday.

This is a developing story. We will update as more information becomes available.
