LINCOLN, Mo. (KY3) - A memorial of teddy bears and candle light is how the Lincoln, Mo. community is remembering 4-year-old Jessica Mast.

”We can somehow somewhat picture little Jessica maybe sitting on Jesus’ lap,” said Gospel Light Fellowship Pastor Merle Yoder.

Benton County deputies found Jessica unresponsive just a week ago in her bed. Investigators said she suffered abuse from her parents and neighbors.

“Many hearts are sad, hurting or maybe feeling betrayed, discouraged” said Merle.

Pastor Merle Yoder from Gospel Light Fellowship in Lincoln led the memorial.

“We do not in any shape or form support the violence that took place in that event. We don’t condone things like that,” said Merle.

Yoder didn’t know Jessica personally but said her memory will live on.

”Lets not let forget what happened to little Jessica and let’s do everything within our power to make sure nothing like this ever happens again,” said Yoder.

Parents James and Mary Mast entered not guilty pleas today to charges of child endangerment resulting in death.

The neighbors Ethan Mast and Kourtney Aumen are both charged with second-degree murder.
