SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - A judge found a Springfield man guilty of first-degree murder for a deadly shooting at a motel in 2019.

The judge convicted Seth A. Gomez, 21, in the death of Calvin Allen, Jr.

Investigators say Gomez stabbed Allen in the head and neck while laying on a bed. They say he then shot Allen in the back as he was leaving. Prosecutors say evidence included statements Gomez made prior to the killing, suggesting he was trying to arrange a getaway driver.

Gomez faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
