SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - In this week’s Catch-a-Crook, Greene County detectives are investigating an armed home invasion in the northwestern part of the county.
The crime happened on May 26 at around 2:30 a.m. with the family sound asleep. The neighborhood is in the 4000 block of W. Farm Road 94, northwest of I-44 and Highway 13.
The home security video shows two men walk up to the front door. One man is wearing gloves and holding a handgun in his left hand. “He turns around, and he mule kicks the front door open,” said Deputy Jason Winston. The second man appears to be acting as a “lookout.”
The sound of the door busting open woke up the parents. Winston says the man then confronted the intruders. “He sees the guy, yells at him, runs after him, and the guy turns and bails out the front door,” explains Winston. The second man, came up from behind the homeowner and shoved him as he ran out the front door. The intruders left empty-handed and no one got hurt. “No one was hurt. No items stolen, but a very frightening incident,” said Winston.
At this time, Greene County detectives don’t have any other crime reports in the area that could be connected to the two men. If you recognize the men or have any information on this home invasion, call the Greene County Tip Line at 417-829-6230.
