Leah Hill is a Missouri native who started at KY3 in June of 2019. She received her bachelors in meteorology at the University of Oklahoma, with minors in broadcasting.
Prior to working at KY3, Leah Hill held several internships in Oklahoma City. She interned for KOKH during the summer of 2017, and from Fall 2018 through Spring 2019 was an intern at KOCO. These internships taught her the ins and outs of weather coverage, and also allowed her to spend hours on the green screen.
In addition to holding internships throughout college, Leah Hill also served in leadership roles for many of the School of Meteorology clubs. She served as shift leader, Vice President, and Director of Operations for the Oklahoma Weather Lab, a student run forecasting organization. She was a leading member of the School of Meteorology mentoring program. Served as the senior representative for the School of Meteorology Student Affairs Committee, and was a representative for the OU Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society. If that was not enough, she also was an active member of OU Nightly, the campus TV station, which gave her four years of on screen experience.
Before developing her passion for weather, Leah Hill was terrified of thunderstorms. It was not until her eighth grade science class, where she learned the basics of meteorology, that her fear turned into a passion. From that moment onward she was dedicated to science, and knew this was her dream career.
Leah Hill is excited to be a member of the KY3 First Alert Weather team.
