2 Tulsa, Okla. police officers shot, suspect taken into custody
Police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, say two officers are in critical condition after being shot and the suspect is now in custody after a more than seven-hour search.
Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin says 32-year-old David Anthony Ware was arrested about 10:45 a.m. Monday. Police had been searching for Ware since about 3:30 a.m. after he allegedly shot two officers during a traffic stop on the city's east side. Franklin says Sgt. Craig Johnson and first-year officer Aurash Zarkeshan remained in critical condition Monday afternoon and were "fighting for their lives."
Ware has been charged with two counts of shooting with intent to kill and illegal possession of a firearm. Court records don't list an attorney for him.
