Vandals hit nightclub 3 times in 1 week in downtown Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KSPR) -- City police are looking for vandals who damaged a nightclub in downtown.

Vandals sprayed green paint outside Touché. They painted a couple of Xs on the glass door entrance.

The manager says Touché is known as an alternative club that welcomes everyone, including gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

Police believe the vandalism took place around 3 a.m. Tuesday. It's unclear if this crime was targeted, but the manager says this is the third incident in a week. The other two involved a car driving by and people throwing eggs at customers standing outside.

The manager says he has had an offer from several community members to help them paint over the damage, if his business can supply the paint buckets.

Police are still investigating this crime, which covers private property as well as city property. There's even some graffiti on the sidewalk and a light pole.
