A surprisingly simple salad dressing you can make a home
On this Fit Life, we visit with Pamela Hernandez of Thrive Personal Fitness and learn how easy it is to make your own salad dressing.
For the freshest summer salads, it is time to ditch the bottled dressing. Making your own dressing is incredibly easy thanks to this recipe inspired by Jessica Ollis from Spring Branch Kombucha. Using kombucha will bring a crisp tanginess to your dressing without being overpowering the way some vinegars can. Plus you’ll get a dash of gut friendly probiotics to go with the prebiotic fiber in your salad.
For this version, Pamela used the Raspberry Basil flavor. But, you could also use Blueberry Thyme or Elderberry Ginger.
In a small mason jar (for easy shaking) mix:
* ¼ cup Spring Branch Kombucha
* ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
* 1 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
* 1 tbsp honey (I used Cinn Full honey from another Farmers Market of the Ozarks, Fleur De B)
* 1-2 cloves of minced garlic
Ideally, you would let this chill for an hour or two before serving over your favorite salad to give the flavors time to meld. However, it is still delicious if you need to serve immediately.
