State regulators say the first two medical marijuana vendors in Arkansas sold over 13 pounds of the drug during the first few days of sales.

Arkansas' medical marijuana program officially debuted on Friday, joining 33 other states that allow certain patients to buy weed.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that the two Hot Springs dispensaries, Green Springs Medical and Doctor's Orders RX, are charging $15 per gram, which means the first few days of sales surpassed $93,000.

Figures from the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration indicate the average transaction was $79.62.

Finance department spokesman Scott Hardin says the state is uncertain how many patients made purchases, citing software limitations. As of Friday, the Arkansas Department of Health had issued 11,739 medical-marijuana registry ID cards.
