WARSAW, Mo. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers out of Kansas City opened all four spillways at Truman Lake Dam Wednesday.

Heavy rains the past two weeks led to higher than normal leak levels. The Warsaw Chamber of Commerce shared the image and video below.

The government nearly doubled the water release from to 50,000 cubic feet per second or a billion gallons per hour. Lake managers want to prepare the lake for more rain through the week. They hope to keep Talley Bend, Sparrowfoot, and Berry Bend Equestrian Campgrounds open.
