Army Veteran flips 300 pound tire to raise awareness to veteran suicide

SPRINGFIELD, Mo: For 22 hours, Markus Burns flipped a 300 pound tire to bring awareness to veteran suicide. Burn says he decided to flip the tire for 22 hours because 22 veterans a day die by suicide. Also, he recently lost his platoon sergeant to suicide too.

He said the hours completing this task was grueling, but he kept a picture frame of his platoon sergeant close by to remind him to keep going.

Burns was also able raise more than 2,000 for the 22 Mission. This charity is a non-profit organization that helps veterans after they return home.

He also has his own warehouse gym in Windsor where he helps both civilians and veterans on their physical fitness.

Burns is currently serving in the Army Reserves.
