An army of tanks rolled through downtown Monday afternoon. It's not the military kind, but rather stainless steel tanks for Springfield Brewing Company's expansion.

"Yes, we are adding more jobs. We are adding more to the local economy," saidd Bryan Bevel, Springfield Brewing Company Director of Operations. "And we are adding more beer for people to taste, and take, and to love. And that [makes for] exciting times."

The tanks were fabricated just a few blocks away at Paul Mueller Company. Getting them to BrewCo was the fun part.

"Working with Mueller has been great. So, that adds to a local company working with us to make this happen," said Bevel.

In all, there will be eight of these new tanks, allowing Springfield Brewing company to triple the amount of beer it bottles and sells in stores all across the Ozarks.

Years ago, Mueller Company had more of a focus on dairy tanks. But, more and more orders are rolling in these days from the beer industry.

"We are responding to exponential growth in the craft brewing market.," said Jessica Presley of Paul Mueller Company. "The growth that these brewers are seeing is just phenomenal, and we love to be a part of it. "

"Taking it from paper to concrete is always awesome. Getting ready to show it off to our patrons and our friends and distributors that have helped us get to this point is really exciting," said Bevel.

Brewco's expansion also includes a lot more warehouse space. Everything will be done by the end of the spring.
