A special moment was captured by a stranger when a local photographer snapped a photo of a marriage proposal at the Branson Landing.
"I just kept shooting in the rain and the cold and it just happened. It was beautiful. It was a beautiful moment," Sheri Holloway, owner of Sheri Holloway Photography, said.
The professional wedding photographer says the moment was meant to be.
"I just love, love," Holloway said. "It worked out exactly how it was supposed to work out."
Holloway was at the Branson Landing shooting a separate proposal when she heard shouting and cheering behind her.
"I was like 'What's going on?' So, I went like this with my camera and I just instinctively just started shooting," Holloway said.
Later that night, she looked at the photo to see how it turned out and the search for the mystery couple was on.
"I really wanted to give that to them," Holloway said
Her Facebook post was shared well over 3,000 times and it finally made its way to Wichita, Kansas.
"I looked at it and I was like 'Oh my gosh, Jordan, they found it!" Bride-to-Be Shelby Herman said.
For Herman, the moment in the photo was one she'd dreamed of.
"It could not have been any more perfect," Herman said.
She says the proposal was perfect and she and her fiancé Jordan Sanders couldn't be more grateful for the kindness of strangers that helped make the memory last forever in the most tangible way.
"We are so, so, so thankful for Sheri and for the other couple that was there. They shared that moment with us," Herman said.
As for the thousands who shared the photo, the soon-to-be bride and groom say they helped make it a Christmas they'll never forget.
"So thankful that people did that because it means so much to us for us to be able to have that," Herman said.
Holloway says she told the couple her name right after she took the picture so they could find her and get the photo. However, with the excitement of the proposal, Herman says they forgot her name.
They say now, if they chose to get married in Branson, they're considering Holloway for their wedding photographer.
