Burglar arrested after a short standoff with Springfield Police

SPRINGFIELD, Mo- A man is in jail after police say he broke into a home in Springfield Wednesday morning.

Greene County prosecutors charged James Edmonds with second-degree burglary.

Neighbors called 911 just after midnight. When police arrived, they surrounded the home on North Street just south of I-44. After a short standoff, officers arrested the Edmonds. Police say the man broke into the house through a back window. No one was home at the time.
