CATCH-A-CROOK: Help solve these Greene County crimes caught on camera

By  |

GREENE COUNTY, Mo.-- The Greene County sheriff is asking for the public's help in identifying two thieves caught on surveillance videos. Sheriff Jim Arnott will be sharing local videos every week. He hopes tips from viewers will help detectives catch these crooks.

On July 6, 2019 a man broke into a gas station convenience store near Willard just after 4:00 a.m. In the video, you can see the burglar wearing a red hoodie inside the Convenience Plus off Highway EE. Arnott says the man stole 28 cartons of cigarettes, tobacco products and $500 in cash. The burglar is described as a Hispanic man, about 5'6" tall.

The second video shows a man taking boxes of diapers from a Springfield Walmart. Sheriff Arnott says the man paid with credit cards stolen from car break-ins at the Highland Springs Country Club on the night of June 20, 2019. He then racked up nearly $3,000 in fraudulent charges at four Walmart locations in Springfield. Detectives say this man is suspected in several other thefts. Sheriff Arnott believes the man stole the diapers to resell them for profit. He's wearing a yellow construction vest in the video and appears to have long dreadlocks pulled back under his cap.

If you recognize either man in these videos, call the Greene County Sheriff's Office Tipline at (417) 829-6230.
