CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Man steals tile saw in broad daylight

SPRINGFIELD, Mo -- Tuesday morning a thief stole a tile saw from a house in Southern Hills.

Chase Replogle is working to remodel a bathroom. He was cutting tile early Tuesday. When he finished he put the saw right outside his garage.

"I got a notification from our door camera," Replogle said. "I pulled it up and sure enough, a guy ran up our driveway grabbed the tile saw and ran away with it."

Replogle had just left the house a few minutes beforehand. However, his wife and kids were still at home.

"I couldn't believe it," Replogle said. "It was 9:20 in the morning. It was daylight, it was not raining, there is a lot of traffic through here with the school being nearby. So I just could not believe how brazen it was. Walk right up my driveway and take it."

The family filed a police report with the Springfield Police Department. Officials tell KY3/KSPR there not an update in the case.

Replogle also posted the video on social media. It was shared hundreds of times.

"Our neighbors got involved and have been sharing it," Replogle said.

Replogle says it is not about the money lost but the principle of the matter. He hopes to see petty crime stop in Springfield.

"People are going to get caught and the technology is going to get people caught," Replogle said. "If anything I just hope it puts a stop to some of this."
