Celebrate Springfield's Route 66 history with 'Birthplace of Route 66 Festival'

Get your kicks by attending the annual "Birthplace of Route 66 Festival" in downtown Springfield.
The festival begins Friday, August 11 at noon. It lasts through Saturday night August 12. The schedule is new this year. In the past the festival has lasted through Sunday.
Springfield is the birthplace of the Route 66 name. This event celebrates that naming. See the 'Mother Road's history come alive with hundreds of classic cars, live music, food and exhibits. And do not miss the Route 66 parade of classic cars Friday evening.
