Firefighters have not yet determined what caused a massive fire that destroyed a condo building at the St. Moritz Condominium Complex in Osage Beach just after 9:30 p.m. Friday.
The condos are located off of Route KK, or the 24 mile marker of the Lake of the Ozarks.
According to Anna Geen, who owns the condo where the fire started, says she and her husband and in-laws noticed smoke and flames on the first level of their condo on their deck near the deck closet. Geen says she and her husband, both from St. Louis, have owned the condo for about 15 years.
There are four condo units in that building, two were not occupied at the time of the fire. Everyone was able to get out safely.
Just after midnight, Chief Jeffrey Dorhauer of the Osage Beach Fire Protection District told
they had not been able to get inside to start their preliminary investigation into what sparked the fire.
