They walked away with thousands of dollars and the job still isn't done.
For decades ... Riki Lipe has lived in a central Springfield home. Her late husband planted trees in their yard.
"Since my husband died in July, I have been doing everything so right and keeping ahead of all the problems that could happen. I've been a bodacious old broad. Now I feel like a stupid old lady ... a stupid old lady," she said.
She ... along with her neighbors wanted honest work for honest pay.
Instead, she's left with brush piles. She was approached by Show-Me Tree Service. Riki says the man had a branch.
"Supposedly that was from my tree. Which I know it wasn't. He was showing me where there's problems and this was going to go through my tree and get into my house ... the termites," she said.
Riki says she gave them three thousand dollars. Her neighbor, paid them too. Yet, the jobs aren't done.
Show-Me Tree Service has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. Reports show, the business has not responded to consumer complaints.
"If they are not willing to pick up the phone and answer our calls ... that tells me they got something to hide," said Jon Anfinson with the Better Business Bureau.
Contact KY3 made several attempts to reach anyone with Show-Me Tree Service. So far, no one has returned our calls.
