Dallas County man faces charges in stabbing death of farmer
A Dallas County man is behind bars, charged in the stabbing death of a man Wednesday night.
Deputies arrested Adam Lynn Redding, of Buffalo, Thursday in the death of Carroll Ford, 77, of Louisburg.
Family found Ford stabbed in a building on his rural farm off of Rice School Road. Investigators say Carroll was stabbed 30 times, including 17 in the back. He was also stabbed in the face and the heart.
In court documents, deputies say Redding admitted to working with Carroll on the farm. Police say Redding said Carroll was upset at him for not showing up to work the past two weeks. In the court documents, Redding stated he pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Carroll after an altercation.
Police say he then admitted to returning to the farm to see if Carroll was alive. When he realized Carroll was dead, police say Redding then stole a check from the office. Redding told authorities he then threw the knife into a neighbor's field.
