A school bus accident in Dallas County on Thursday morning sent three students to a hospital by ambulance. A Dallas County School District spokeswoman says none of the injuries are serious, but one student may still have been hospitalized at midday.

Assistant Superintendent Debbie Dryer says the bus collided with a pickup at the intersection of Culpepper at Slagle with about 40 students on board.

Dryer says parents picked up about six students at the scene to get them checked out. Others picked up their children later at school, as the students continued to school.

The district sent out an automated phone call to alert parents. School administrators and the Missouri State Highway Patrol also responded to the scene. Dryer says the cause of the crash is not yet clear, and she did not have any information about the bus driver's experience. She says the bus driver was not hurt.
