Investigators say suspect wounded in officer-involved shooting in Barry County

SHELL KNOB, Mo. -- The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Barry County.

The suspect is hospitalized. Two deputies involved did not suffer any injuries.

The two Barry County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance Wednesday afternoon off of Channel Cat Lane north of Highway YY near Shell Knob. Sergeant John Leuckenhoff says the two deputies came into contact with the man leading to a struggle. At some point one of the deputies fired a gun, hitting the suspect.
