Employees walk out after shift at Springfield plant, go on strike

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Union employees of a longtime Springfield manufacturer has announced they have gone on strike.

120 employees walked off the first shift around 11 a.m. at Timken. The strike impacts nearly 300 union workers. The Steel Workers Union says the workers will walk the picket line Tuesday afternoon. The workers are on strike over working conditions.

No more negotiation is currently scheduled between the two sides.

Timken is located at Battlefield and Scenic. The Timken Company engineers, manufactures parts for the automotive industry.
