Federal prosecutors charge Logan-Rogersville High School teacher in child pornography investigation

ROGERSVILLE, Mo. -- Federal prosecutors charged a teacher at Logan-Rogersville High School in a child pornography investigation.

Matthew McCroskey/Greene County Jail

The FBI arrested Matthew McCroskey, 50, Wednesday night. McCroskey appeared before a judge to hear a charge of receiving and distributing child pornography Thursday.

Investigators say they found images of child pornography on his computer at his Springfield home. Investigators say they found a program called peer-to-peer that allows sharing of downloaded files. This investigation dates back to November.

Logan-Rogersville Superintendent Dr. Shawn Randles says McCroskey taught English at the high school. He has been employed by the district since August 2004.

The school district notified parents through email. Dr. Randles says school leaders are cooperating with authorities.

McCroskey is on administrative leave.
