FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Tornado Watch extended to nearly all of the Ozarks into Saturday

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The risk for tornadoes is heightened for the Ozarks throughout Friday night.

The Storm Prediction Center issued the Tornado Watch until 2 a.m. for several Missouri Counties. It covers Christian, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Howell, Oregon, Ozark, Oregon, Shannon, Stone (Mo.), Taney, Texas, Webster and Wright Counties. It also covers Baxter, Boone, Fulton, Izard, Marion, Newton (Ark.), Searcy, Sharp and Stone (Ark.) in Arkansas. The Tornado Watch in Arkansas lasts until 9 p.m.

The line of weather already produced damaging storms in the Ozarks Friday afternoon. The line of storms will move slowly through the Ozarks, packing wind, hail and heavy rain too. Up to a half-a-foot of rain is possible in some areas.
