Five people were injured after a boat explosion Saturday afternoon at the Lake of the Ozarks, including a six year old girl.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says the group had just filled the boat up with fuel. The driver, 71 year old Robert Baber started the vessel, triggering an explosion. The highway patrol report states that lack of ventilation and mechanical failure prompted the explosion.

One person was ejected from the boat and into the water.

The other passengers aboard the boat are listed as 39 year old Patrick Baber, 42 year old Carl Harris, 6 year old Katheryn Harris, and 48 year old Cynthia Sterling, all of Kansas City.

Four of the five occupants had moderate injuries. Carl Harris was transported by life-flight to University Hospital with serious injuries.
