Four children killed in Kansas house fire

PRATT, Kan. (KY3) Authorities in southern Kansas confirm that four children were killed in a house fire on Thursday morning.

Neighbors told reporters that the children were trapped in the basement with their mother when the blaze started.

According to KWCH-TV, the victims are Reece, Timmy, River and Harley Wheatley. The children ranged in age from four months to four years.

The mother was airlifted to a Wichita hospital with severe burns. There was no immediate word on what started the fire.
