Happening Today: Motorcycle ride, fundraiser for teen paralyzed in trampoline accident
The Springfield community is rallying behind a teenager paralyzed from the waist down after a trampoline accident in June.
A fundraiser at the American Legion on South Scenic on Saturday October 22nd aims to raise funds for the family to help with medical costs. The event starts at 10 am. A motorcycle ride will begin around 11 a.m. There will also be live music, food and a silent auction.
JT's spent three months at Shriner's hospital and Mercy Hospital in Chicago. He's been going through extensive physical therapy, occupational therapy and more. JT was able to come back home to Springfield over a week ago. JT is expected to attend Saturday's event. The Simpson family says they are grateful for the communities support.
