The owner of a Route 66 treasure in Phillipsburg -- is looking for a buyer.
The Phillipsburg General Store is on the list of Missouri's Places in Peril. The store is more than 100-years old. And, you can still see an old soda ad on one side of the building. In it's history the building served as a drug store, housed a bank and even had a small theatre upstairs.
The building needs a lot of T-L-C. A roof leak in the rear of the building caused extensive damage to the back wall and that wall looks like it's in danger of collapsing.
If you're interested in buying the building and preserving it, contact the owner at bcbender3@yahoo.com.
Meantime, The Missouri Alliance for Historic Preservation is accepting nominations now for the *next list of Places in Peril. You can nominate buildings on their website through August 31st.
