Sheriff reveals identities of 4 found dead inside southern Stone County home

NEAR BRANSON WEST, Mo. -- Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader released the identities of four found dead in a southern Stone County home Monday afternoon. The sheriff says all four are victims of a murder-suicide.

The sheriff says victims Susan A. Gibson, 70, Cynthia Miller, 43, Daniel Gibson, 17, all died of gunshot wounds. Victor Gibson, 47, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Deputies responded to the quiet retirement area near Branson West. The family's relatives in St. Louis asked the sheriff to check on them. The neighborhood is made up of mostly retirees. The sheriff says his department has never responded to that home.

The sheriff says the investigation is still ongoing. Meanwhile, neighbors in the area remain shocked.

"It's something that as soon as you wake up, it's reality time. It's there," Rich Jarocki said.

Daniel Gibson was a student at Reeds Spring High School. The district shared this statement with KY3 News.

"Daniel Gibson was a senior at Reeds Spring High School . He was well liked by his teachers and classmates. The school district has counselors available for students and staff who need support. The entire school community is saddened by this tragic event."
