Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a possibly dumped Shepherd/Hound mix

In our Leigh's Lost and Found today, we're looking for the owner of a possibly abandoned dog.

This Shepherd mix may have been dumped and if so, animal control would like to catch up with the person who did it.

"The finders believe he might have been dumped but there was no collar or microchip so we can't really follow up on that. They just hadn't seen him in the area before and then all of a sudden he was there and they live in a pretty closed off neighborhood."

Shelter coordinator Josh Doss believes the male Shepherd is mixed with a Hound among other breeds.

He turned up in the 3200 block of north Marion. He's pretty young, only about a year old.

He's well socialized with people and other animals and very friendly. He also has not been fixed, so he likes to roam.

If you recognize him or know anything that could help track down the owner, call animal control at 417-833-3592. You can also visit their website to see pictures of all the animals currently there and to fill out an online lost pet form.

Another great resource is the Leigh's Lost and Found facebook page. Anyone can post a lost or found animal on there any time, so be sure to like the page and share it with your friends.
